This Japanese morning glory took center stage in our collection of planted containers this year, for we wanted to see every one of these gorgeous large banners of bloom as they opened first thing on a summer's day. Four inches across, they spread silks of pearly blue that faded as the sun traveled higher to lavender and then mauve pink, the throats flushed with pink.
