Sweet Cecily, or giant sweet chervil, as it was once called, has frothy clusters of tiny white flowers and a scent not to be missed. All parts of this ancient herb are edible and lend a sweet anise flavor to dishes. It spreads agreeably in partly shaded woodland edges and other humus-rich areas.
